Über Tupac

Tupac Shakur was an American rapper, actor, poet, and activist whose impact on music and culture remains extraordinary. He rose from a politically conscious background into one of the most influential voices in hip-hop, known for combining intensity, social criticism, vulnerability, and charisma. His work addressed poverty, racism, police brutality, inequality, love, pain, and hope, which is why his music still resonates across generations. Although his recording career lasted only about five years, Tupac became one of the most successful artists in modern music history, with over 75 million records sold worldwide. He also built a strong acting career, appearing in films such as Juice, Poetic Justice, Above the Rim, Gridlock’d, and Gang Related. He released landmark projects including 2Pacalypse Now, Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z…, Me Against the World, and All Eyez on Me. Decades after his death at age 25, his legacy remains powerful enough that he was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2017 in his first year of eligibility.
